A Prayer Gathering

Why should you come tonight to The Church at West Franklin's Prayer Gathering?

Because prayer isn't the "set up" to reach our family, friends, neighbors, and coworkers for Jesus . . . Prayer IS the work! We are guaranteed eternal fruit for our those with whom with live, work, and play - when we PRAY.

Consider these texts:

Matthew 9:37-38

37 Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest is abundant, but the workers are few. 38 Therefore, pray to the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest.”

How did Jesus instruct His disciples to get to work filling the harvest field with more workers? PRAY.

Ephesians 6:18-20

18 Pray at all times in the Spirit with every prayer and request, and stay alert in this with all perseverance and intercession for all the saints. 19 Pray also for me, that the message may be given to me when I open my mouth to make known with boldness the mystery of the gospel. 20 For this I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I might be bold enough in Him to speak as I should.

What did Paul tell the Ephesians to do after instructing them to put on God's full armor? Charge??? Nope. PRAY.

1 Timothy 2:1-4

1 First of all, then, I urge that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for everyone, 2 for kings and all those who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity. 3 This is good, and it pleases God our Savior, 4 who wants everyone to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

What's the first thing Paul told Timothy to get his church to do? PRAY. Why? Because God wants all people to be saved.

The harvest is plentiful and the laborers are few. Therefore, PRAY.

You've got on the full armor of God to fight against Satan and his schemes. Therefore, PRAY.

God wants all people to hear the Gospel and be saved. Therefore, PRAY.

So, tonight in the worship center - from 6 - 7 pm - myself and Reid Patton will lead us in a concentrated time of prayer for the lost in and around West Franklin. Craig Adams will lead us in songs that direct our hearts and emotions accordingly.

Want to see people with whom we live, work, and play trust Christ? Join us tonight for the work of evangelism: A Prayer Gathering.
